FACE CLAIM: Tom Hardy | PLAYER: Kate | AESTHETIC: link
NAME: James Stryker AGE: 35 BIRTHDAY: September 15th
TITLE: Baron Foxford CLASS: Aristocrat MARITAL STATUS: Single (emotionally unavailable) FAMILY: Father: Horace Stryker [Deceased] Mother: Elizabeth Stryker [Deceased]
PERSONALITY: James is intelligent but dark, mysterious, broody, rarely says much, and when he does it almost sounds threatening even when it’s not. He is a man of few words and typically answers in mumbles, grunts, or gestures. He is intimidating and not really one someone wishes to be around for too long.
FASHION & APPEARANCE: Wears dark and simple attire so as not to draw much attention to himself. HEIGHT: 5’11" WEIGHT: 190 lbs. EYE COLOR: Blue-Green HAIR COLOR: Brown MARKINGS: Various scars along his body, a large scar that runs above his eyebrow and down to his cheekbone, tattoos he received in Africa.
MAGIC: Type: People History: After being released from his prison, he encountered a tribe where he was taken in for a little over a year. There, he learned the ways of a witch doctor and whether he was cursed or figured out how to develop a people-type of magic, he learned quickly how to gain control over it and use it for his benefit. Strangely, this had been the same type of magic his former love possessed.
BACKGROUND: - James was the first and only son born to Horace and Elizabeth Stryker. His father was the owner of Stryker Trading Company- which had been passed down from his father. His mother had been a prostitute that Horace met while out abroad, and eventually fell in love with. He brought her home to England with him and they married. Soon after, James was born.
- Shortly after his birth, his mother died from some unknown illness. Horace didn’t know the first thing about raising a child, so he relied on his housekeeper and steward to raise James while he kept himself busy in his work.
- Despite their wealth and title, Horace never got involved with the other aristocrats. It would almost seem as if he preferred to be amongst the middle and lower-class people. Because of this, James grew up thinking he was anything but a noble.
- When he became old enough, he took on to help his father with his business and often went on trading runs, learning the ins and outs of the trade so he could one day take over the family business.
- As his father grew older and began to settle down at home more often, James stepped up and did most of the work for him, often being gone for long periods of time.
- When he was home, he spent the time working, organizing things for his father, and attending parties to maybe meet women, get drunk, gamble- or whatever the case might be.
- It was during one of those parties he met Celestine Jeckyll . She was a psychic and somehow managed to draw him to her table. She knew things about him that he hadn’t even told another soul.
- The two had grown attached and pursued a relationship, but every time he had to leave for his work, she often gave him a hard time, begging him not to leave. Supposedly, she had a vision that his ship would wreck and he would die. But the more he left and came back, he began to doubt that her vision had been accurate.
- The last time he saw her, they had gotten into a horrible argument over him leaving again. He didn’t believe her warnings and she never seemed to drop them. She tried to use her magic on him (despite agreeing never to), by attempting to persuade him to stay. He became angry with her and left without saying anything else to her.
- Their ship ended up crossing through a horrible storm, causing the ship to wreck. Most of the crew died, but James and a few other men were washed up on an unknown land. They were quickly captured and thought to be enemies of whatever war the land had been fighting with.
- James was held prisoner for over two years. He was tortured for information that he did not have. He could not communicate with them because the language was different and he couldn’t understand any of what was said.
- When the people were attacked again and lost, he was released from his prison and taken in by a tribe who helped him regain his health and strength. They taught him a lot of things and he finally learned that he had been in Africa. He picked up the language, he learned their customs, and quickly started to become like them, including picking up on some magic.
- He wanted to return home many times, but something always seemed to hold him back or prevent him from leaving. It wasn’t until the tribe was attacked and captured for slavery that James interfered and would eventually find his way back to England. He snuck his way onboard the slave ship and with the use of his newfound magic, was able to persuade the men to kill the captain, release the would-be slaves, and to follow him as their new captain.
- James sailed back to England, convincing the crew to stay on board while he attended to some business back on land. Though he would never return to the ship. Later in the middle of the night, the ship exploded, killing the entire crew. One less slave ship.
- Upon returning home, he learned that his father had recently passed and there would be a lot of work to be done in returning from the dead.
