NAME: Vesper Talbot (née Chastain)
AGE: 28
BIRTHDAY: June 4th
HEIGHT: 5'7"
EYES: Blue
HAIR: Brown
MARITAL STATUS: Widowed
TITLE: N/A
CLASS: Middle class.
FAMILY: Father- Oswald Barham; Mother- Bridgette Chastain; "Adoptive" Mother- Leslie Barham; Younger Half-Sister- Emmeline Barham; Youngest Half-Sister- Miss Marigold Barham
PERSONALITY: Despite the lack of a mother's love while growing up, Vesper is a very confident woman. She's comfortable with her body and knows she has the appearance to hook a man with a single gaze. This was something she didn't utilize in her younger years, but after a short marriage, a woman has to do what she must, especially one without a title to her name. There's a bit of a wild side to her, one she attempts to hide behind closed doors to keep on her father's good side, but the stuffiness of home life does not settle well with her. This is precisely why she leaves to travel when able.
FASHION: Simple elegance. She rather spend her money elsewhere, however, she personally enjoys accentuating every curve of her body, and her choices in dress certainly do so. She's a fan of thick ribbon choker necklaces and is rarely seen without one.
BACKGROUND:
- Vesper was born to Oswald Barham and a lower class woman by the name of Bridgette. Some thought the woman was a prostitute, but he claimed otherwise. He was unaware that Bridgette was with child until she was practically forcing a four month old Vesper into his arms. Unable to turn away his own child, even one born out of wedlock, he claimed the baby as his own...much to the displeasure of his new wife.
- The Barham family cooked up a story to say that Vesper was a child they adopted from the church, if only to save face among their peers. Leslie still did not treat Ves equally as her own daughters, and it was always a constant issue growing up. It caused Vesper to rebel a little more, bordering on indecency if only to try and embarrass the woman.
- Although her sisters were told not to be friendly with her, the three were always close, even played in secret whenever they had the chance. Vesper loves them both fiercely, and would not hesitate to threaten any who dared to hurt them. She has cut a man before and would gladly do so again.
- When she was 22 years old, she was married off to a wealthy middle class man- Henry Talbot. He was nearly 30 years her senior, but he was kind and considerate. In truth, he was just seeking a companion after his wife had passed away a year prior, and Ves soon considered him a dear friend. He taught her much of the world and even left her some money upon his death, while everything else he owned went to his son, William.
- Taking whatever money she then possessed, a bright-eyed Vesper left to travel without a care. The last thing she wanted was to go back home. She went anywhere the wind would take her, not caring what others thought about a young, widowed woman traveling alone. That was the year her emotions hardened and she learned to ignore the opinions of others.
- When she was nearly 24, she met Louis Beaumont. He was young and handsome, and devilishly charming. Vesper was immediately smitten with him, and she thought she might marry him someday. Yet, during their courting, she found out that he was a con artist who married rich women in order to steal their money. Strangely, she didn't seem to care. There was this wild, carefree attitude about him, and dare she think that he actually loved her.
- Vesper accepted Louis for who he was and traveled with him. She learned the "tricks of the trade" from him, going so far as to entice unmarried men in order to gain access to their money. They were an unstoppable team, never staying in one spot for too long lest they be caught. She went so far as to get violent, using whatever means necessary to finish a job. Yet it was when her lover started to force her into giving herself to other men that this harsh reality began to crash down upon her.
- He became abusive, going so far as to try and hang her by the neck from a tree (she hides the scar with ribbons, high collars, and chokers). In fear for her life, she drugged his tea one night and fled with whatever belongings she could carry (and all the current money they had stolen). That was over a year ago, and she regrets not killing him...for she fears he might somehow track her down and kill her in her sleep.
